ABOUT SOUP
We are delighted to announce our latest Oxfordshire SOUP event, which will take place at the friendly time of:
Friday 6th December, from 11.00am – 1.00pm at the Activate Learning, City of Oxford College.
Grassroots funding at its finest, Oxfordshire SOUP is Crowdfunding meets Dragons Den for small businesses. SOUP is a global movement which enables communities to disrupt the status quo and raise small scale investment for new businesses or ideas they collectively vote for.
The format is simple. You come along, pay a small fee and listen to 3 or 4 ambitious businesses pitch their idea.
Pitchers each have the floor for up to four minutes, and must rely on their passion, their speaking abilities and the way their can articulate their business to win over the audience – no gadgets, give-aways or PowerPoint. The audience can then ask a maximum of four questions to try to establish which business is most worthy of investment.
With the presentations over, lunch is served. This is an opportunity for you to meet your fellow funders and mull over the ideas before choosing the business you feel is most worthy of your investment. You will vote by placing your token into the corresponding box.
The winning business gets to take home all the money taken at the door, as well as:
- £300 donated by our sponsor Oxfordshire Business Support (part of the OxLEP)
- £300 donated by Visiba Care
- A support package devised to help them support their plans for growth.
The only promise we ask is that they will come back three months later to report on their progress.

Oxfordshire Business Support (OBS) is the Growth Hub for Oxfordshire provided through the Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (OxLEP).
We help businesses to navigate around the complicated and often confusing business support landscape, and find the support they need to start up and grow.

- Provide specialist advice and guidance through our team of Network Navigators
- Running events and workshops on a variety of topics
Our services are completely free for businesses and start-ups in Oxfordshire.

Visiba Care is a digital care solution that enables healthcare providers to get started with their own branded digital practice. The platform is scalable, and functionalities and workflows can be added and tailored to fit different needs.
Visiba Care leads the market for digital healthcare consultations in Sweden and is advancing in the Nordic countries and the UK. The customers vary in range and are found both in public and private sector.
