The Wood Centre for Innovation (WCFI) and the Oxford Centre for Innovation (OCFI) are both owned by The Oxford Trust; an independent charitable trust founded in 1985 by entrepreneurs Sir Martin and Lady Audrey Wood. The Trust’s mission is to encourage the pursuit of science and enterprise.

Both innovation centres encourage enterprise by providing cost-effective, flexible office space, meeting and conference facilities and business support for tech entrepreneurs and start-ups. They have enabled hundreds of innovative companies to begin, develop and grow, including; Mirada Medical, Perspectum Diagnostics, Natural Motion and Oxford Computer Consultants.

The Trust’s sustainable business model means that income from WCFI and OCFI is reinvested in the Science Oxford Centre at Stansfeld Park and their Science Oxford education and engagement programmes. The strength of the Trust’s business model is that it supports both ends of the innovation ecosystem, from inspiring young children about the wonders of science, to helping start-ups develop and grow.

Innovation Director

She a wealth of experience in obtaining funding for R&D and capital investment. With extensive knowledge of innovative technologies across different sectors, Wendy’s passion is helping ambitious businesses to achieve rapid and sustainable growth.

Graham Monger

Centre Manager

An accomplished Centre Manager with a proven track record of delivering exceptional results across multiple sites. Graham excels in managing three dynamic centres within Oxford, providing flexible office and laboratory spaces and comprehensive business support services to SMEs mainly within Science and Technology. With a strong commitment to excellence and a track record of driving growth, Graham is dedicated to fostering a vibrant and supportive ecosystem for entrepreneurs and businesses.

Cleopatra Chapple

Assistant Centre Manager

Cleo has a wealth of experience in customer service. She has worked in the energy industry for over 10 years, managing corporate and SME customers. Has also worked in a business centre managing offices as an assistant manager. Cleo is married with two boys. Likes driving out to the countryside with the family and going for walks. Enjoys shopping and eating out.

Karanjit Das

Laboratory Supervisor

Karanjit is from Assam, India. Assam is in the North-East of India and is known for Assam Tea and Assam Silk. He is well versed with specialist lab techniques and have experience teaching laboratory diagnostics to MSc students. He also has experience lecturing M.Sc. students. Karanjit has worked in several laboratories and with various multi-disciplinary teams. He is a very friendly person and is always ready to help others. In his leisure time he plays badminton and cycles. He also enjoys cooking.
