Barclays Eagle Lab for WCFI

January 27th 2020

Barclays has announced the launch of its latest Barclays Eagle Lab at the Wood Centre for Innovation in partnership with The Oxford Trust. The flagship Lab, for early-stage science and technology start-ups, is aimed at supporting spin-out scientists, university graduates and entrepreneurs in their quest for unlocking innovation and business potential.

The Eagle Lab in Oxford is now one of 25 labs in the Barclays network, one of the largest incubator networks for start-ups and scale-ups in the UK, providing a platform to connect the nation’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and give entrepreneurs and ambitious businesses of all sizes access to a range of skills to help stimulate innovation.

Providing space for up to 40 entrepreneurs, the new Lab will offer the use of the onsite facilities, including 28 permanent and 12 hot desks, an Ecosystem manager and a dedicated lab manager to provide technical expertise, mentoring and connections required for science and technology businesses to flourish.

“Oxford is an ideal location for our first dedicated science and technology Lab and this new facility will further our support for Oxfordshire’s entrepreneurs. The Science and technology sector is of increasing importance to us in our daily lives and the opening of our lab in Oxford will help continue to develop this capability.” Jon Hope, Director of Barclays Eagle Labs

The Lab will be open for business from March 2020 and business can register their interest in joining the community through the Eagle Lab website, see HERE.

“Oxford has continued to grow as a key area in the Thames Valley for start-ups and scale-ups with the launch of the Barclays Eagle Lab creating much needed space for entrepreneurs to research and develop.
